Ozzy Osbourne planning farewell shows in hometown before officially retiring from touring

Ozzy Osbourne will be having his last hurrah, right where it all started.

His wife and manager Sharon Osbourne says plans are in the works to get the rockstar back to his hometown of Aston, Birmingham for a series of farewell shows.

While on the London leg of her own Cut The Crap tour, Sharon shared: “He won’t tour again but we are planning on doing two more shows to say goodbye as he feels like ‘I have never said goodbye to my fans and I want to say goodbye properly’.

“We will do it in Aston Villa where Ozzy is from. His voice is still absolutely perfect. And all the time he has been off he still does his singing lessons so his voice is perfect. And he can joke yeah.

“He has all these melodies in his head. Even if you don’t like his music you can’t not like Ozzy, he just draws you in.'”

The former Black Sabbath rocker hinted towards his retirement previously, having recently undergone his fourth round of spinal surgery after a 2019 fall dislodged metal rods in his back, causing him to cancel his U.K. and European tour dates early last year.

“My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak,” he shared on Instagram at the time.

“Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way.”

The singer previously said that his last wish was to farewell and thank his fans properly for their support.

“That’s one of the things I’ve been the most f—–g pissed off at: I never got the chance to say goodbye or thank you,” he told Rolling Stone UK last year.

“If I can’t continue doing shows on a regular basis, I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, ‘Hi guys, thanks so much for my life.’ That’s what I’m working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I’ll die a happy man.”
