Chennai: The State Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) department has planned to organize spiritual tours of the ‘Aarupadai’ veedu (Six Abodes of Lord Murugan) and a Rameswaram to Kashi tour this year besides observing the auspicious days in the Tamil month of Thai like Thai Karthigai and Thai Poosam and Maha Sivaratrhi.
At a meeting of the department, presided over by HR & CE Minister P K Sekar Babu on Thursday it was decided that 1000 senior citizens would be take on the religious tour of the six abodes of Lord Murugan, who is considered as a Tamil God, with the first batch leaving on January 28.
For the Rameswaram to Kashi tour, 300 devotees would be taken in five batches, starting from the beginning of February, a press release said.
