Bridgette Wilson continued starring in films throughout the ’90s and early 2000s. She also appeared in The Wedding Planner, I Know What You Did Last Summer and House On The Haunted Hill. Her final film was the 2008 Sonny Liston biopic, Phantom Punch.
Wilson – a former beauty queen who won Miss Teen USA in 1990 – decided to step away from acting to spend more time with her family.
Her last acting role was in 2008.
“For now, I want to be there when [my sons] wake up and I want to be there to put them in bed,” she told Pregnancy Magazine.
Wilson, now aged 50, married tennis champion Pete Sampras in 2000 and the couple have two children together.
In 2023, it was revealed Wilson had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
”As most have come to know, I am a pretty quiet and private person. However, this past year has been an exceptionally challenging time for my family and I have decided to share what’s been going on,” Sampras said in a statement.
”Last December, my wife, Bridgette, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Since then, she has had major surgery, pushed through chemotherapy and continues with targeted maintenance therapy.”
